چکیده

Abstract 3D printing opens up new possibilities for the production of polymeric structures that would not be possible with injection molding. However, it is known manufacturing method might have an impact on mechanical properties manufactured components. To this end, behavior test specimens made thermoplastic polyurethane compared two different methods. In particular, SEAM technology (screw extrusion additive manufacturing) to a conventional molding process. Uniaxial tension from both methods are analyzed in testing sequences (multi-hysteresis tests analyze inelastic and uniaxial until rupture). get as less perturbation possible, 3D-printed samples printed only one strand per layer. Moreover, correction approach based optical measurements applied determine true cross-sectional area specimens. The reveal material same Instead, show lower maximal stretch values at rupture increased variance results, which related surface structure

Stress-Strain Behavior of Thermoplastic Polyurethane

The large strain nonlinear stress-strain behavior of thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) exhibits strong hysteresis, rate dependence and softening. Thermoplastic polyurethanes are copolymers composed of hard and soft segments. The hard and soft segments phase separate to form a microstructure of hard and soft domains typically on a length scale of a few tens of nanometers. Studies have revealed ...

Wear resistance of injection-molded thermoplastic denture base resins

Objective This study investigated the wear resistance of injection-molded thermoplastic denture base resins using nanoindentation instrument. Materials and methods Six injection-molded thermoplastic denture base resins (two polyamides, two polyesters, one polycarbonate, one polymethylmethacrylate [PMMA]) and a PMMA conventional heat-polymerized denture-based polymer control were tested. Elastic...

Fiber Orientation in Injection Molded Long Carbon Fiber Thermoplastic Composites

A set of edge-gated and center-gated plaques were injection molded with long carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composites, and the fiber orientation was measured at different locations of the plaques. Autodesk Simulation Moldflow Insight (ASMI) software was used to simulate the injection molding of these plaques and to predict the fiber orientation, using the Anisotropic Rotary Diffusion an...

Mechanical Properties of Nonwoven Reinforced Thermoplastic Polyurethane Composites

Reinforcement of flexible fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) composites with standard textile fibres is a potential low cost solution to less critical loading applications. The mechanical behaviour of FRPs based on mechanically bonded nonwoven preforms composed of either low or high modulus fibres in a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) matrix were compared following compression moulding. Nonwoven pr...
